Haai guys,

Just thought I'd update you with what's going on in my life. So as some of you may know, I was accepted to go study Pharmacy in Pretoria, which is a joint degree with Medunsa and TUT. I was supposed to stay in a res for Medunsa around Arcadia, but it's the dodgiest place I've ever been. I had no mattress, no toilet seat, no desk to study at. My word, I was speechless. It was so filthy.

I've now found a commune nearer to Menlyn with some kewl people and I move in on Monday because WTF lectures start Monday. o_O Never thought it would happen so soon.

I don't think I'll have internet access at my new place, but I'm living with 7 other people so maybe we can all organise something. It's a great place and I even have a frieken swimming pool.

Pretoria was quite a dodge experience. Our car broke down, at 5 o clock in the afternoon, just as all the rental places closed. Formula One told us they were fully booked. Luckily at 6 they had an opening so some nice guy at the place that was going to fix our car drove us there, completely out of his way. I had to be at Medunsa at 8 in the morning, and we had to get a taxi to take us. o_O Solomon was cool, but he just seemed to think we were from Spain.

My dad rented a Chico, and of course it has no airconditioning, so we had to keep our windows rolled down. Next thing, at a robot, our car gets surrounded by what I thought were salesmen, meanwhile this jackass attacks my dad and rips his chain off. My dad kind of elbowed him in the throat, and he dropped the chain and then my dad said some very offensive things to the guy which I am unable to repeat.

ANYWAYS, everything has sorted itself out, AND I'VE GOT A CAR. It's a 2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 with a/c, p/s, airbags, etc. etc. etc. It's the new shape and navy blue and it's the most beautiful thing ever, aside from DocterMoo of course ':(. OMG.

Anyhoo, I'll try to keep you guys updated. I miss this place. Take care, and maybe I'll see some of you in Pretoria. Then we can go on a manhunt after DocterMoo seeing as he doesn't want to come join me.

whoa... welcome back to SA indeed. quite the experience. Nice car though. All the best for the studies, and for making new friends in PTA. Some strange people there, but also some really excellent people there also. Heres hoping you meet all the excellent ones. Don't spend too much time at Menlyn at least stay away from Arthur Kaplan...

Yeah, Arcadia is one messed up place now - really has gone to the dogs. Menlyn is much better... and pricier.

You shouldn't let your bad encounters in PTA mess things up for you though, toasted - as you know by now, things are a WHOLE LOT more relaxed here than in JHB (although Menlyn does buzz a lot during the day... and night come to think of it), but I would choose PTA over JHB anyday!

Just a quick update:

My landlord has organised internet in our place, BUT OF COURSE, I am too far to get signal.

But DocterMoo has promised to organise me some shiz, to try and get it working.

I'm struggling without it man, not just for my love of internet, but the amount of work I'm doing and I don't want to sit in the crap library every day for the rest of these 4 years.

I hope to have the net soon though.
