I shall be supporting England, as usual. Sven Goran-Eriksson will be coaching England against his own country, Sweden, and i hope he won't be biased. tongue.gif

Who do you support, and whom do you think will take top honours?

What i also like about this, is that Germany's time zone will be just about like ours. I wonder what time the matches will normally start. Sadly, where i work now, there is no tv, so any matches played while I am at work will be missed by me. sad.gif

Oh, and Rush, don't say that Portugal is gonna win it, cause they won't. tongue.gif
Heir_of_Isildur
England clap.gif

It always seems to me that they end up playing against some or other scandinavian team every time out.

I feel quite sorry for the Australians... all that trouble to qualify, and they draw into Brazil and Croatia.

If Brazil wins, I will lose hope in th world cup forever.
Fishfly
hmmm this has a sense of de-javu... didn't the last world cup or the euro 2002 also see the pair up of Italy vs Cech and England vs Sweden????
and Brazil vs Japan?????

Damn... what's going on? France gets an easy group sad.gif

but got Ita's!
cyfermaster
GO ITALY!!!!!!
millennia
England FTW!!

Fishfly
eng will not make it thru the group stages tongue.gif
millennia
lol, keep living in that dream world Fishy tongue.gif

It could be harder for Italy to progress against the yanks and czechs...

Yeah... i'm thinking that's quite a tough group.
Fishfly
actually didn't that happen the last time????

Italy vs USA and they played so hard they decided to have a draw in the end to kick some other team out???? damn this feels like da-javu.....

oh wait was that Mexico??? whew..

I will be supporting engalnd but i think portugal will do well, germany will be very strong, mexico has a very strong team but i think it will be brazil
Fishfly
well if ronaldinho doesn't burn out by the end of the season Brazil will probably take it sad.gif

Although I'm quiet enjoying Del Pero and Gattuso's form at this point in time... The Ita's should fair very well if they keep this form up!
Drexus
mindless england supporters....
brazil is going to punish everyteam tongue.gif
they got quite an easy group i think and most of their
players doing well at the clubs... just hope
they dont play ronaldo... he must go n die/retire
cyfermaster
hmm... Didn't Japan stop France from quaifying for the knockout stages at the last World Cup? I can see them doing it to Brazil as well.
Fishfly
highly unlikely with that AC Milan's Goal Keeper and the entire Brazilian players at least a head taller than the japanese players it'll be tought for them sad.gif
cyfermaster
they'll run between the Brazillians' legs trout. There is some advantage to being short and playing tall opposition tongue.gif laugh.gif
Fishfly
not if ronaldino run circles around them sad.gif
Surge
Here is the electronic wall chart...
cyfermaster
Thanks. Nice find. Any ideas why it is only England that has the kewl Flag?
Surge
It's cause the creator of the spreadsheet is an England fan. tongue.gif

Only time I would ever support England, is if they are playing Australia...

Which I have done a few times. Sad but true.
Fishfly

JuCa

This layout is also quite nice.

As far as I know Germany is on the same timezone as us. smile.gif
millennia
Germany is an hour behind us wink.gif

Not at all, the author just knows a good thing when he see's it!
cyfermaster
check the below link:

http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone...ermany/time.htm

If I read all that correctly... during the WC Germany will be on the same timezone as us. bleh.gif
millennia
pasted from your link...

QUOTE
What time zone is Germany Time in?

Germany Time is in the Central European Time Zone. Central European Standard Time (CET) is 1 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+1).

Like i said, 1 hour tongue.gif
cyfermaster
Yes, at the moment they are 1 hour behind us. but during the world cup they will be on the same time as us.

QUOTE
Central European Time (CET)
Standard Time = GMT+1
Summer Time = GMT+2

To see time in a separate window press here

European clocks on STANDARD TIME
until 01:00 GMT 26 March 2006

when clocks go FORWARD 1-hour to
Summer Time / Daylight Saving Time

until 01:00 GMT 29 October 2006

That too me looks like they will be joining us on GMT +2 sometime during the 26th of March.

QUOTE
Like most states in Europe, Summer (Daylight-Saving) Time is observed in Germany Time, where the time is shifted forward by 1 hour; 2 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+2).

Note how I did say that during the world cup they will be on the same time as us.

Yep, this Friday can't come soon enough, people. any one else already getting adrenaline rushes in anticipation for the matches this weekend?

I'm glad that there are three bottle stores on the way home to choose from. w00t.gif
JuCa
Hehehe, I am really looking forward to the matches but that enthousiasm isnt shared by anyone around me sad.gif

My gf will probably be whining and my sister's bf is a rugby dude, the rest of my friends don't care about sport sad.gif

I guess I will be watching WC2006 by myself...still looking forward though biggrin.gif
cyfermaster
JuCa, you supply the snacks etc... and I will keep you company during the matches smile.gif
Surge
Juca, at least you won't have to sit there and try to explain the offside rule to your girlfriend. sad.gif
JuCa
No but I will have to hear from my sisters bf how soccer players are nothing compared to rugby players, why do they get payed so much, they are scared to play rugby, etc etc....

And he will most likely also ask the whole time what is happening... sad.gif
Fishfly
hahahaha sounds familar there lobo... but instead the gF asking what offside rule is I have to explain to the mom over the freaking phone sad.gif

I already told the gf I'm gonna be MIA for the entire month due to the WC tongue.gif
Surge
LMAO, Fish. What did the g/f have to say?

Where u gonna watch the matches by the way, or did u get a tv/DSTV yet? tongue.gif
Gitano
Sorry guys, but Id rather have someone to explain the offside rule to than not have anyone at all....

And also just think its better than ttrying to explain the offside rule in rugby!
cyfermaster
Thast why hockey is so kewl... there is no offsides! w00t.gif
