How long ago did the change over occur? man this topic has been abused already. I agree with Howlin about the unsure. I did grow to like it very quickly though.

I registered at net forums, the next time i tried to log in i got "16 hours .... mins to VAULT9" the next day i tried again and got "sorry for the delay 9 hours .... to VAULT9" , thought WTF?

The forum is whatever the members make it - it is up to us after all

It just doesn't feel like home anymore

The only thing that bothers me is that the vaults still seem very separate. Sure this was partly the aim but there was talk of creating a 'single view new topics' and I am sure this would have pleased lots of members - but this never happened, not sure why or if maybe it is still in the pipeline?

Indeed - however neither of these two options provide quite the same results that the old 'view new posts' used to provide. I think a SINGLE 'view new posts' across all vaults would make discussion easier and more lively. This could be made accessible from the Global9 page (if it is necessary to still give the appearance of the vaults being separate).

yeah what I meant was it shows the vault as in http://global9.vault9.net/

but instead of board news etc... it shows the new posts for that vault. so you have all the vaults with say like 10 of the new posts showing...

I feel at home in this forum...its full of abuse parents telling you you're wrong, naming useless info you will never need and constantly push the envelope or rather your wrist towards that shiny white clean straight razor...but hey thats just me.

Geez hasn't this been discussed enough? Either way, I was initially quite surprised by the drastic change but I've since settled into the new look and feel of it.

Firstly - we did release the global view thing that was spoken about (http://global9.vault9.net is meant to be an effort at that). This is probably a good time to bring this up though - we wanted to put a global shoutbox there but it would mean that we'd have to disable the other ones.

See, whatever vault's shoutbox is used needs to have everyone who see's it be registed on that vault. E.g. EVERYONE would need to be a member of chill vault to shout then.

We were going to remove all the shoutboxes, bar the chill vault one, but given that we wanted (and can now see) the sites to grow on their own that seemed like a bad decision.

Based on the very limited activity in many of the other SB's I vote we keep only the Chill one. Hmm, think we all miss the good ol' SB days

At first I was annoyed with the vaults being seperate.

But I prefer it this way now. Change isn't always a bad thing.

I'd still like to see one single username & password for all sections of the vault. Other than that I'm slowly starting to settle with the split up.

Let me get this straight you wanna remove all the other SB? could you not redirect the users to the one central SB? yet keep all the posts running concurrently? i.e it displays what's goign on in the SB throughout the forums but only the one central one can do the shouting?

if not I'm not against the idea of 1 central SB it'll make the box more active

I did not like it at all. (Sorry Rush )

But the people here are still the best in the world and even if the looks change a bit the users a all still the same and usually know what they are talking about.

Even if it was a bit confusing in the beginning I have come to like it now exept for having to login for every forum. But I think that it will keep the spammers from spamming everywhere (I.E Bergie)

Take it from someone new, stinky's post is worthwhile. I have browsed a lot of other forums and wasted a lot of posting - the people here are great.

i dig the forums dont get me wrong - but everyone is debating that so ill leave it. its the members that make it so great here i think anyone who is unhappy must either speak up nicely and try make it better or leave and not bring the rest down

I really feel the username and password should be central to all the vaults and that is the most annoying factor of browsing this vault9 network

I don't like the fact that all the info has been split across 50 million different sites that don't really matter because ppl will post wherever the hell they feel like even if it has no context in whichever vault they posted.

I check up on chill maybe once or twice a day nowadays whereas it used to be once or twice an hour. I can't even remember the last time i logged onto the other vaults. Shouldn't actually even be called vaults, more like mausoleums.

I simply just don't like it. All my gripes were discussed in the old staff forum before the change even happened.

And yeah, you can all jump on my head now saying blah blah, we don't want your type around here then, negative blah blah, but honestly it's the truth. Many other ppl feel the same they're just scared of voicing their opinions due to the smackdown they fear of being handed....

It's still a good site, just nowhere near as great as it used to be.

Feel free to delete my post as i'm sure it will be anyway.
