Ah Dan Brown. Read all of his books, most favorite was angels & Demons. It seems that Dan Brown is every londoners favorite author because there are at least 3 people reading his books in every tube carriage.
I have actually been put off his books now because of this.

Jul 29 2005, 01:18 AM
No it is not part of the discworld series, it is a book about the campaign for real cats (can't decide if it is fiction or non-fiction) but it is quite good. My favourite non discworld book is good omens, do yourself a favour and give it a read (if you have not already)

what did you think of area 7? ive read 4 of his books. area 7 is not bad, pretty fast paced, the sequel, scarecrow, is even better, you can see his writing skills have advanced. i didnt enjoy his earlier books, they are over the top, far fetched and at times the writing seems childish. he can take things just too far though and it becomes absurd at sometimes. also he uses onomatopoeia a little too often.
His books would be perfect for Paul WS Anderson and Uwe Boll to make movies on.
Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy awesome book. his last book "The Salmon Of Doubt" is very good. its a collection of stories and articles written by the Author and also includes 7 chapters of an unfinished book he was working before he died.

Area 7 was a good read with a lot of fast paced action (maybe a little too much at times). The only other book I read of him was Temple which I quite enjoyed. Scarecrow is on my to-read list.
Just started on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and looking forward to reading the whole series.

Reading - what a past time if your computer either crashes or irretates the hell out of you...
Currently I on Jack Higgens. Writes action thrillers (if one can call it that). Makes for a very easy read. In a nut shell... real life action and references, james bond can go to sleep, skop skiet en donnor... o ja, with the odd girl inbetween sometimes.
Waiting for the family to finish with Harry Potter, then I'll have a go at that.

i dont think its a good idea to stereotype the Dan Brown reader as an "intellectual type" considering every second person on the tube is reading one of his books.
besides his books are easy reads.

Reading the entire Dark Tower series by stephen king ...cleared the first 3 books and I think I'm going broke on the prices of these bastards. Also starting to read: Capitalist Niger by some author who was on 702 ...very malcolm X apparently, then again probably just a carbon copy of the legend. Probably a book on how to teach your staff to earn more money for you by investing in short term stocks and then selling their kidneys.
Also re read my children books...I was moving house and there they were. There was a little animated book about things children shouldnt do like rock the chair, not eat correctly and lastly and this one warped me...suck on their thumbs because "dam dam dam" Some imp with a huge scissor would jump from out of nowhere and cut off the sucked limp...blood and gore in a childrens book. If I find it again I'll scan it and display it on the forum.
