Drew Barrymore plays Lindsey, a high-powered business executive who falls for likeable schoolteacher Ben (played by funny man Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live). He is the perfect catch.

However, when summer comes around and the baseball season is in full swing, Lindsey discovers that the Boston Red Sox team has a powerful pull on her boyfriend’s affections. Is he really worth fighting for?

The Perfect Catch is loosely based on Nick Hornby’s romantic sports memoir “Fever Pitch” and it is directed by comedy geniuses Bobby and Peter Farrelly (There’s Something About Mary).

Reviews have said that you’ll laugh and root for the couple all the way to the end of the movie. There is a lot to relate to for both men and women. It will probably still take a while to be released in South Africa (it is being released in the UK on 5 August), but keep your eyes open for this one, as it sounds set to be a good one.
