I haven’t listened to it yet, and I’m not sure if it has been released in SA yet, but the album everyone is talking about is: Michael Jackson – The Essential Michael Jackson. I was at the stage of thinking we wouldn’t hear from him again, but I’m glad this has been released, and I will sure as hell buy it. He’s a genius.
This album is said to remind us of why he is known as the King of Pop. There’s an amazing selection of classic songs, from the early days when he sported a tiny Afro in The Jackson Five (ABC and Blame It On The Boogie), to his solo days when he donned white gloves and socks and moonwalked to tracks such as Beat It, Thriller, Bad and Smooth Criminal.
There are 38 tracks on the album.
Say and think what you like about Michael Jackson, but as a dancer, musician and performer, he’s still absolutely brilliant.

^^ I have to agree. He has stuffed up his life soo much, but I still would have givenn an arm and a leg to be at one of his huge concerts back in his golden days.
Nobody could make an entrance like him

Entrance.... or show. He was brilliant back in the day. I knew there would be an album come out after the court case... He needs to make some money some way to pay the lawyers. Hope this one isn't a flop. It shouldn't be considering it is his older, BETTER stuff.

I have a DVD of some of his best performances and whenever guests see it on the shelf they want to watch it.
My favourite song of his would have to be "They Don't Really Care About Us". I like the drums and it's a good video.

I sort of agree. I only enjoy a few of his songs, but I know that he is very good at what he does.
I dont think I will be buying the CD, but I wont mind hearing it sometime.

I'm not sure if any of you remember/were able to go to his HIStory tour a couple of years back. I was lucky enough to go, and it was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Even though he was like the size of an ant from where I was sitting, you could just feel his 'presence'.
I fell in love that day - not with him, but with music and performing. It was amazing, and I'll never forget it.

Watched a few of his concerts on TV and I was always amazed. If I ever had to choose to go to any live concert that ever happpened it would be a close tie between him and Metallica

I also like that song! His older songs are definately the better ones. Smooth Criminal... billy jean... the girl is mine (with Paul Mccartney)...
A lot off his Thriller Album in fact. Black and White has some goodies as well...

Well i really loved Michael back in the day, and still take time out to listen to his classics every now and then! Michael was one of the few artists open to musical fusion back in the day, i love the solos in Dirty Diana(Steve Stevens), Give it to Me(Slash), Beat it(EVH), really awesome songs!
