Come on guys!

Lets get this thing going again.

How could we improve this to get everything going?

How should the submitted songs be handled, and what should we do with them?

RustPuppet
Sweet!

I'm keen to get this going again properly. I think we should revise the rules and procedures we tried last time and think of a better way to get people to contribute.

Browse the net, look for tabs and just post them (as attached files and build up a database like that?). People can also make their own tabs and post them. Should just find a way to keep it structured so you can easily find certain tabs without going to an endless list of pages.

But what makes us different from places like OLGA or ultimate-guitar.net then?

We might as well just go there, and use them.

I think the input from the local ppl will not be enough to keep it running (as the previous attempt). While it would be nice I agree it just isn't really that realistic (or am I wrong?). Maybe just open it anyway and keep the tabs for local bands or so?

You can't really do that since generally you would need the permission of the author to post the tab on any site other than that which it was submitted to. I think we should try to rethink doing our own tabs, since last time there was very limited input from other users here.

Maybe if someone wants to tab a song they can work out a certain portion of it themselves, then post it so that the rest of us can help out. This way you'll only get people to help you if you do some work yourself.

How about we get this thing going again? Since it's proven difficult to determine what songs we should tab, how about you submit whatever song it is you're working on, and if others want to contribute they can do so. Someone could also post a few songs they're thinking of tabbing and ask the rest which they'd like to help with most; this could be easier than having a fixed poll.

To begin, I've been itching to tab 'My Baby' by Plush (the SA band) for a while now. They posted a tab on their site with basic chords, although they don't provide the correct voicings for them, or any of the lead parts (which is the only part I'm interested in really). I'll format their tab a bit better and stick it up later, and anyone who is keen to help is more than welcome smile.gif

Oh I don't think I can post an mp3 of the song here, but you can download the mp3 and the video for it off their site here. It's a great acoustic song that's getting a lot of airplay on SA radio so hopefully others have heard it and wanna know how to play it biggrin.gif
