In about 2 months a i've got a task to at my college which includes me finding my own band and making a multitrack recording, but the problem is i dont know any bands.

I got a friend in a band (The Abbots). If you pm me your number, I'll give it to them and see if they would be interested. I know they have got recordings already but they might go for it. Is it a professional recording (each instrument recorded on a seperate track) or a basic recording (all at once)?

I'd be keen to jam with some people and lay down some guitar tracks

I stand corrected. It seems as though there are planty of amateur musicians clamouring for studio time, but one thing I know from experience about first time recordings is that the amount of effort required is ALWAYS underestimated. If you get people with little or no recording experience you must expect delays and fuckups.

I would recommend you look at getting some professional session musicians in, but it is going to cost you money. Or at the very least find people who have recorded before and know what is involved. Its one thing sounding good in a practice room with your pals, but sounding good in the studio is a completely different deal.

Well it might be a chance 4 sum band to get on their feet, the type of music doesnt really matter just mustnt be punk cuz thats hard 2 mix!
