evil.gif Well after accumulating my massive +/- R200 eBucks over how ever many years I decide to blow it in the eBucks shop.

Now in their Terms and Conditions it does say that if there is no stock they will supply you with a "similar" item. Well I ordered a spindle of 100 blank CD's and a spindle of 25 DVD+R's.

So finally it arrives yesterday after the 1 month delivery (which is a term as well), but instead of DVD+R's they send me CD-RW discs. And not even descent CD-RW discs. The 1x - 4x junk.

Where the hell are blank CD's similar to DVD's ? They'll probably tell me it is a similar value of course.

And this is the 3'rd time FNB has messed me around in the last 3 months. Firstly I go into the bank to fill out paper work for something with a consultant. When I phone to find out how far it was ... oh the consultant never faxed it through to head office !!!

Then secondly I apply for a personal loan amount which is well within my budget and they only approve it for half the amount I wanted. And I've been with them for 18 frikin years and never missed a payment on anything.

FIRST NATIONAL BANK AND EBUCKS YOU BOTH SUCK !!! evil.gif rifle.gif thumbdown.gif boxing.gif banned.gif

you have to understand, FNB and ebucks = 2 different entities. Your rage should be aimed at ebucks, not fnb.

It is at both of them them.

LOL, they probably don't even have DVD's - they just put them on the list to make you happy for a while.

yip, FNB aren't my favourite (always long queues) - also the new ad (hell, most of their ads suck)

Stangely I've had no problems with FNB or Ebucs.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but the service I've received so far was exceptional.

Cant say I have had an issues with either or them, granted I do really use ebucks, but FNB is great. My pops uses ebucks quite regularly and he hasnt had any problems with it.

But until recently you could use ebucks for your banking and stuf but not anymore. I find it twice as difficult and hard to login to fnb's site ( way slower than ebucks used to be ) and to find my way around. thumbdown.gif

Funny that... Two people I know have recently closed their ABSA accounts and moved to FNB.

Absa is full of shit.

FNB is by far the best bank in South Africa and their internet banking is leauges ahead of anybody else.

I agree, ABSA is quite nice. Their internet banking is quite good, but can be a little slow at peak times(which is not after 10 when we use it mostly) smile.gif. Never really had any problems with them, and their internet service is also a great bonus.
Milano
ABSA gets my vote.

FNB has too many many Forex problems.

Well, we can either all agree to disagree or agree that all banks have selective service. I've used FNB, Standard Bank and ABSA (though ABSA for the longest) and with each one there are pros and cons, better service this day, bad service that day, et cetera. In the end all banks are simply thieves and loan-sharks empowered by the law, so don't forget that and things will go swimmingly.

Yeah, you must be one of the lucky ones. Some people can get decades of excellent service with a company, while others get shit from the word go... tongue.gif

People are always closing accounts and chaing banks - it has been that way for years now. Working in client services, I constantly get request from clients to change their debit orders, since they have movied banks, and the request are from people who were with all the major banks in SA (ABSA/Standard Bank/FNB/Nedbank).

Personally, I still stick with ABSA, because I too have not had bad service from them (in general). The only type of crappy service is when going into a branch in the city, and the doos behind the counter doesn't even have the common courtesy to greet you. The service from the larger malls is excellent though.

Yeah, that is true.

Back to eBucks though. I phoned them yesterday, so that I could get my net login, and card activated, and received some pretty lame service.

Firstly, before I could get to speak to a consultant, I was on hold for like 10 minutes. Ok, I also work in a call centre, and at times we also have a high call influx, so I didnt worry too much about that, since I know how the game works.

Then I finally get greeted by an agent ("Good day, my name is Ms Y. How may I help you"), and request my user id, and to get my card activated. She takes my id number, and then dissapears for like 5 minutes again, at which point she comes back, and says, "Good day, my name is Ms Y. How may I help you".

So I am like "yes, it's Sergio again. I am waiting for my user ID for the web logon."

She then aopogises, and says that she lost my ID number (wow, lost such a short space of time), and takes it again, only to return another 5 minutes later with my user name.

I dunno, maybe she was new there, or just having a bad day, but needless to say, I got the user id, and activated my card on the net rather.

If you want good service go to Nedbank, but then expect to pay high high bank charges!

We (my family except my Mum) all used to be at Nedbank. My Mum was with FNB since she was a young. About three years ago she moved to Absa when my Dad made the move. She was fed up with FNB too. I'be been with Absa for a couple of year now, made the move just after my Dad & Mum and I've been really happy. No problems at all, but then again, I'm young and don't really use Absa for Loans etc.

That's a pity FNB have done this Solo, after 18 years. rifle.gif

Well to be fair eBucks did deliver the right DVD+R's as I originally ordered and it doesnt look like they are going to ask for the CD-RW's back that they delivered incorrectly.
MeTsU
Ok, fair enough, but still, it was the initial hastle that could've been avoided. Glad to hear it's more or less sorted! smile.gif
