Stangely I've had no problems with FNB or Ebucs.
Maybe I'm just lucky, but the service I've received so far was exceptional.
Yeah, you must be one of the lucky ones. Some people can get decades of excellent service with a company, while others get shit from the word go...

Funny that... Two people I know have recently closed their ABSA accounts and moved to FNB.
Absa is full of shit.
FNB is by far the best bank in South Africa and their internet banking is leauges ahead of anybody else.
People are always closing accounts and chaing banks - it has been that way for years now. Working in client services, I constantly get request from clients to change their debit orders, since they have movied banks, and the request are from people who were with all the major banks in SA (ABSA/Standard Bank/FNB/Nedbank).
Personally, I still stick with ABSA, because I too have not had bad service from them (in general). The only type of crappy service is when going into a branch in the city, and the doos behind the counter doesn't even have the common courtesy to greet you. The service from the larger malls is excellent though.

FNB has too many many Forex problems.
Yeah, that is true.
Back to eBucks though. I phoned them yesterday, so that I could get my net login, and card activated, and received some pretty lame service.
Firstly, before I could get to speak to a consultant, I was on hold for like 10 minutes. Ok, I also work in a call centre, and at times we also have a high call influx, so I didnt worry too much about that, since I know how the game works.
Then I finally get greeted by an agent ("Good day, my name is Ms Y. How may I help you"), and request my user id, and to get my card activated. She takes my id number, and then dissapears for like 5 minutes again, at which point she comes back, and says, "Good day, my name is Ms Y. How may I help you".
So I am like "yes, it's Sergio again. I am waiting for my user ID for the web logon."
She then aopogises, and says that she lost my ID number (wow, lost such a short space of time), and takes it again, only to return another 5 minutes later with my user name.
I dunno, maybe she was new there, or just having a bad day, but needless to say, I got the user id, and activated my card on the net rather.
