My complaint is about RECTRON, Last week thursday i ordered a new GeForce 6800Gt, a 400watt PSU and a new mobo from them, i was told the items would arrive by Friday, friday came and went, and i thought ok, maybe it'll be here Monday.......Monday came and went, Tuesday came and went, by this time i am FUMING over the INCOMPATANCE of RECTRON do their salesman just tell you ANYTHING, just to make a sale??? Ne ways it is now Wednesday, and i get told my parts have arrived, i rip open the box and what do i find, Just a mobo and a 400 watt PSU, THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEMS WAS NOT EVEN PACKED!!!!
Now do i have to wait ANOTHER WHOLE WEEK to get my GFX card or will RECRON decide to pull their fingers outta their ASSES and do a job professionally, I have sent an email to the sales person and am yet to recieve a reply????
Surely for an International comapny this is not good standards?? This is totally unprofessional!!!!!
Has ANybody else hada problem like this from Rectron?? I like to think that it's maybe not ALL their branches as the one im refering to is the Durban branch. Do i just have really bad luck or is their SERIOUS INCOMPATANCE GOING ON??????
Oh Please do start cause i am FUMING over this dude!!!! i wanna email this thread to them at a later stage!!!!!!!

There is always someone higher up. Start emailing the manufacturer direct and tell them how you are battling to get hold their of products from their "distributors" Might help

Had a run-in with them myself last week. What really got me wasn't the piss poor service but the attitude that came with it. As if I am supposed to feel privileged to be their customer!! FFS!

I have had bad service from the JHB branch as well. But on average they are not that bad.
I think they are now too big, as you wait literally HOURS in the queue to get one copy of MS Windows XP and can almost never get to a sales person via phone without holding cause they're all busy.
I hope they'll be better in their new building. Perhaps their service also upgrades with the new building.
Oh, and going to the CEO doesn't help either, unless you got contacts inside. I had to make use of a contact of mine just to be able to pay via internet transfer!!!
I do find that the sales ppl normally not very clued up on new products, and I blame that on training. If I want to sell something, I need to know about that product. They, it seems, just tell them the name and the price and that's all they hear about. Therefore recommending an FX5950 Utra as a better card than a X800 XT because it costs more. This happened with another supplier, but simular things happened to me at Rectron.
It is a neverending battle, and hence the reason why they are also getting less and less business from me, just like Esquire. I am actually not buying from esquire at all any more. Haven't for prolly a year now. Rectron is next on the list, cause they only give attention to the incredible connection sized customers, and the rest of us gets the crumbs and must be happy with it.

the cpt branch is really starting to suck if you try and order something in person. It was friggin ridiculous. I stand around for like 5-10min waiting for them salesfolk to unglue their darn eyes for a split second from their monitors. So what I do to prove a point? i call them from inside Rectron. Got service in under 20sec. WTF is that!?
also, i got a beef with distributors boosting prices within a week of the rand going south. The problem I have with this is that when the rand improves dramatically, they take about 2 - 3 months to decrease product prices. Rand goes pear-shaped, wholesales (and my target for this month is rectum) follow suit within weeks! I got a little graph to prove it, but i gotta dig it outta archives cos it something did a coupla years ago to track price variations relative to new product release, R/$ exchange and oil prices. Proved very interesting.
Anyways, the beef i have with their quick-to-follow attitude is that often I hear that product is ordered months in advance. So if u order, u gotta pay right? see where I'm going?

LOOL!!!!
This is the responce i got from RECTUM!!!!!!!
"We are terribly sorry about your frustration and disappointment with theproblems that you have.
Could you please tell us your company name and details so that we can get to the bottom of this problem?
Please also answer the questions below…
Which Sales person did you deal with?
Was the product damaged during transportation?
How was the product packed?
Please understand that in most of the forums, some of these problems are actually reported inaccurately.
Rectron as a company, will do it’s best to try to provide a decent solution to any problem.
Kind regards,"
It;s now Friday, a week later and still no GFX card!!!
WTF!!!!!

that reply is called "ear candy" = sounds good but worth shit.
I just find it very disconcerting that big corporations first consider your sales volume before doing something. Whilst i agree u have to look after your big clients ESPECIALLY well, especially is the key word. However, looking after ALL your clients well should be standard policy. It simple logic that all big thing started small. So each small client is a potential monster in the making, thus deserving of your careful consideration, not this wishywashy bullshit attitude. telskum, rectum MTN.. this list just gets longer.. Proudly South african my ass

Actually I must say that getting to the right sales person and sticking with them usually helps. I had no problem once a good relationship was made with the sales person. I never went through to the switchboard unless I needed to. I always tried to get the sales persons cell no. then give them a missed call, they always called back. Sure now and then there availability of products was a problem but generally I got the items I needed.......
