MYSTERY

It was a beautifully warm early spring day in 2005 when Jimmy a really bright and might I add handsom young mechanical engineer. He had qualified six years ago and like all ambitious young guys he wanted to make a name for himself and earn a decent living. How else would he be able to find and keep the girl of his dreams.

So he went into research, taking up the study of PC's , and other devices of the electronic persuasion. After many months of deep analysis and mind shattering hypotheses he made his life defining discovery.

He couldn't wait to share it with his computer geek friend and drove almost recklessly over town to her appartment where he proudly announced.

I've FINALLY discovered the MYSTERY of how electronic devices work. They work on smoke (he said with a self satisfied smile) And I discovered this because when the casing or encapsulation fractures and the smoke escapes they stop working.

And you're chuffed by yourself for thinking that up all by yourself?

The magic smoke thing is as old as vacuum tubes (literally).
