I am thinking of going to Dubai for a few years - might even stay there if it is decent enough...

Does any one know where I can begin looking locally?

You cant come stay in dubai without a residency permit and the only way you get one of those is by having a job. I am unaware of any way to get one without having the job before, so its not a case of job hunting while you're out here.

As for advice, I would seriously consider PM'ing myself or w2dmb for our mobile phone numbers so you can ask us in person any questions you have.

Dubai is in almost all ways infinitely better than South Africa (almost) and yeah, we can help if you need it. Give us a ring...
