I bath - an I am not gay.
Bathing helps to reduce the blood pressure by up to 10 points, and it is a good wake up call in the mornings.

Shower is my choice unless i don't have access then second choice is a bath. Third choice is licking myself like a cat

In an ideal world that job would go to Charlize Theron.

For sure - that is why a bath leaves one more refreshed than a shower...
My name is not George Walker Bush, so I don't tell lies at random.
I shower as often as I can. Bathing takes too much time, even though it's enjoyable. So basically I shower twice a day.

I shower in the summer; I bath in the winter.
I know someone for about two years, he stays down the road from me and I have yet to see him take a shower. He doesn't smell or anything, but can you imagine! He normally takes a swim as a way of cleansing himself properly. Too bad if it's winter. I guess it happens like that when you're a pom. In England, or so I've heard, personal hygiene is not top priority as it is in SA.
I get the impression of them powdering themselves down with baby power (under their arms especially) and off they go. Obviously it's not 100% true, but with regards to my English friend, well, he obviously has better things to do than shower.

As of typing this, I haven't cleansed myself for more than a week, I just use roll-on deodorant to mask most of the smell. Its convenient and doesn't waste water.
Another added bonus is that I don't have to put gel in my hair as its greasy enough to hold pretty much any position I put it in.

Erm
I hate feeling greasy so I shower once or twice a day, bathing is relaxing but I dont feel as clean as after a shower. I have even gone and rinsed off in the shower after a bath before because I felt unclean still.

showers are the best. i think it's far more hygenic that sitting in ur own goo that u've just washed off - i mean, with bathing u basically just spread the dirt evenly all over u

i think thats the point of soap though. It keeps the dirt from sticking to your body after you've washed it off.

no, the point of soap is to get the gunk off u, doesn't keep it from sticking back on again.

I found, that those that come from europe take a few months to get it into their heads that in SA a shower per day is necessary. I get the impression that a deo replaces 2 out of 3 showers in europe(No offence intended, it just does not seem necessary in europe). Every second teacher we get here is from Germany so it can get pretty annoying until someone tells them about the daily showering...
I shower daily sometimes twice.
Concerning the soap: I though the idea of soap was to bind with the fats cause they don't come off with water. Or did soap take apart fat molecules... can't remember. Besides, there is so much bloody water and so little dirty (hopefully) that it does not matter really.

Showering isnt different. The water runs down you and does not even reach all places, usually.

the reason fats and oils (the main components of dirt and sweat) don't come off with only water is because they are hydrophobic (they have molecules on their surfaces that actually repel water).
soaps have various functional molecular groups that bind to water and fats... this is why they clean you. the functional groups of the dirt have higher affinity for the soap molecules, so they would rather bind to the soap than to yr skin. when you wash the soap off, it takes the dirt with it as well. that's also why bathing is not so bad. even though you are lying in yr own dirt, most of it can't bond to yr skin cos the water molecules surround it and hydrogen bond to the hydrophilic groups (the one's that ike water and bind to it) of the dirt.
so if ya think you can just rub water on yrself and expect to be clean afterwards... think again.

Yes well when we are all sitting around with no water because you people wasted it on something stupid like cleaning yourself, I'm gonna be the one saying 'I told you so'.
I showered last night, is that okay?
Its amazing how my bathing habits can bring my sexual preference and even choice of school into question. Hmmph, and you lot call me immature.
