Man last night's episode was awesome! I thought Clark was gonna get hitched!

Please remind me why Clark can't tell Lana bout his secret? I thought it was because it would put her in danger....

Yet she's always in danger anyway.
And his mother was talking bout him finding the right woman for him. When would a woman ever be right if you 'don't want to put her in danger'?

Eg. Why did he decide that it's OK to tell Lois Lane? Why wouldn't it endanger her? As compared to Lana...

Just doesn't really make sense to me...

I've also got a few questions. Not a huge Superman follower, so i was hoping someone could tell me.
First of all, who the heck is Lana Lane? I thought Clark's one true love (or whatever) was Lois Lane; so where does Lana come in and why does she have the same Surname?
And now for the age old question: Why does cryptonite mess around with Clark, when his people lived on a planet entirely made from it? So, like, if he was still living on his homeworld he would have been reduced to a vegetative state or something.

Last night's episode was very good. Pity the blonde girl turned out to be a looney, she was excessively cute!

Firstly,Lana Lang and Lois Lane do not have the same Surname.

Secondly, Kryptonite is fatal to Superman due to its lethal radioactivity (caused by the explosion of krypton), which he is more susceptible to because of its Kryptonian origin. Prolonged exposure to Kryptonite will harm humans as well, but its effects on Kryptonians are instantaneous.

i havent watched smallville, but i've collected superman comics for a few years in the 90s and from what i've heard of smallville, they've totally rewritten the story - in the comics, clark told lana about his powers way before lois, especially because he only met lois in metropolis, and she never featured in his smallville life at all. from what i can tell, lex luthor never featured in clark's childhood either

Maybe cause Clark was madly in love with Lois in his adulthood, and not in his teenage years, which led to bigger issues with keeping secrets... or something like that.

Yep, Lex never featured in Clark's early years. Clark only met Lex in Metropolis, and they NEVER were friends to begin wih, as Superman was always foiling Lex's diabolical deeds.
