Step one: Turn on car while holding down the clutch
Step two: step on the brake while disengaging the handbrake
Step three: put the car in 1st gear, or reverese if u want 2 reverse
step four: slowly start lifting ur foot off the clutch while holding down the accelerator (not 2 deep, except if u want 2 take a few km's off ur tyres.)
Step five: Hopefully you will see the car moving, congratulations!
Hope that helped

You don't drop the handbrake and hold the brake, unless you heel'n'toe or the ground is pretty flat.
Driver's expects you to give it gas and drop the clutch while you release the handbrake without letting the car roll. Easiest solution is to start giving it gas and dropping clutch till the car 'grabs hold' and then release the handbrake. You should be able to keep the car from moving on a slope using only clutch+gas, no brakes. (yes the clutch would take punishment if you do this for extended periods.)
