I find that lots of caffeine helps me to stay awake and concentrate better.
try bioplus - works well

i prefer a glass of water to coffee when im studying
get enough sleep before you start studying
and take 5 minute breaks every 20 minutes (give or take)
break away from everything that distracts you... the tv, pc, even people.
and i for one dont think you can study to music (this is highly arguable though)
concentration aside, doing the revision tests in your text books works wonders.
ask your teachers for old test papers
just some things ive cared to share
good luck

That bioplus stuff is like Russian roulette. Some ppl can't handle it and just crash a few hours later in a way they can't recover from. Seen it happen in my matric finals and a few exams since then. Think it's safer to stick to caffeine.
Music is debatable - helps me though, as long as its chill stuff and not anything with a driving beat (better for clubs)

Take Ritalin it will turn you into a single minded zombie studying machine.
On the minus side its almost as addictive as cocane and you'll have to convince a doctor to subscrbe it.

I dont think many doctors will perscribe that now, unless you can act really well, and pretend to have serious ADD.
For me, I just work out what I need to study, and I sit down and do it, with 5 mins break every 20 mins. I drink anything and eat anything I want, it doesnt affect me.
I dont study when Im tired, because that just defeats the object.

Well, you could be like me and when youre just about to study, just run to the kitchen get some food and then forget to study

yes, we actually did a case study in psychology on this - according to A LOT of experiments this doesn't work. they gave groups of people recordings where some would be the real "concentration enhacing sounds" while other would just be random white noise, and found no difference in their performance whether they had the real thing or not.
:. i won't recommend spending money on it...

If you already know something, dont study it. I know people who will know one aspect of their geography for example, and yet will study it over and over again. Dont, there is no point, if you know it already, chances are you wont forget it.
Studying stuff that you already are familliar with just makes you bored, and you lose all inclination to study.

once you know something, you dont study it over and over, you read it over and over, to keep it fresh in your mind. you dont sit and repeat something you already know 10 times in your head, you just read over it along with everything else... you only 'study' the stuff you don't already know well

Small Tips that have helped me:
1. An now 'corny' colution in this huggy hold crystals age, but try meditation_ nothing long and fanciful, just 15mins twice a day of breathing and stilling. Feeling centered and calm always helps your focus and retention of information.
2. When the caffeine starts having a negative impact, try Fire breathing instead to wake you up: Lie on your back and pamt rapidly to the count of 20 (each cycle of inhale-exhale counts as one, not two). Then breath normally for a count of 20. Repeat the panting to 20, then breath normally again. It activates certain opiate transmitters in your brain, as well as rushing fresh oxygen to the brain. Dont try if your a heavy smoker, ahsmatic etc.

3. Plenty of water helps

4. Something small, furry and cute to mutilate and vent your frustrations out on is a must_ little brothers [ espicially those not in your own family] make good target practice.
Hope that helps.
