well there are other local forums around like PCF where there are idiots that know totally nothing and think that they are cool - well they are not - at least planetmars has a bunch of people that really do know what they are talking about and that is in each section of it

from software to hardware to the offtopic sections like cars and movies and even programming and graphics each section here has people that are higly skilled and specialised so yeah id rather come here for answers to my questions than any other local forum

so yeah id agree with the main title of this thread - there is more right than wrong here so dont worry about stupid ignorant idiots - and if they dont listen to you its their loss - let them feel good in their ignorance - it doesnt lose you anything - like those arseholes in pcformat forums - ive been looking at some replies there recently ha they call themselves tech related - they better think again

Doomhammer went into Matrix Technologies a long while ago to purchase a nForce 2 Motherboard.

He asked for an Asus (one that was in PCF) and they said no this one is better (Some shitty wanna be brand.) that Asus is crap.

So Doomhammer says but PCF gave it a good rating.

And the person says PCF don't know what they're talking about.

If I was there I woulda foned Christo coz he was the one who reviewed it.

Yeah, he is from blabber. I don't really know him, and this thread is not about us flaming him. I have been on this forum board for quite some time and I often pop in to see what's happening. We were discussing how awesome firefox is. I then gave him a link to one of the threads on pm which the channel could refer to. That is the context in which Iceburg's comment came from.

How can pm be so bad when I've received help so much? Not only is he criticizing the entire board, but it's also aimed at the people who have the knowledge and help others. I am not stupid and I help people so I find this a direct insult to my intelligence. Why would my opinion and assistance not be regarded as worthy? Same goes for everyone else on here who spends time to contribute to this community.

This forum is one of the best I know due to the people actually not caring how new a person is at something, or how many times the same question is asked, they are always responded to in a decent, courteous manner.

I just find comments like his unjustified and it irritates the crap out of me.

ha - someone should tell those guys that asus is considered a first tier mobo manufacturer and sells far more products than abit and dfi which are only known to be good overclocker boards



though you do get some people who go on about using the search button "once in a while" but generally yeah this place is as you describe and this is why so many people like this place



about this - io dont feel we need to bother since the guys who do help are doing so because they dont want people to make mistakes or to improve their computer experience and are not doing it for fame or recognition thus i dont think any of those people would bother to get offended - you tried your level best to help the guy - he seems like an overbearing "knowitall" moron - thus just dont bother - he will soon realise how good your advice was and will soon register here under a different nickname anyway LOL

See, I just read his (and a few other) comments similar to the one I posted and it infuriated me. Just because they sit on another board which doesn't like pm (or think they know-it-all), does not mean you can base your opinion on what you haven't experienced. I guess people do anyway though.
I've read bad stuff about pcf forums and (not that I've ever been there) I definitely wouldn't bad mouth them and say things like, "bah, pcf forums are so like ghei! They don't know jackshit."

well its gonna be hard to find people that universally like everything and will generally put down things that they havent tried since they will try to make everyone else think like they do or buy the same things that they buy but not realizing that they are forcing people into the same mistakes that they make

i also used to get infuriated at people like that - but now ive decided to take it in my stride - everyone is entitled an opinion - and as people get older and wiser they will change those opinions - but it is opinionated people that you should avoid the most since they only have opinions and almost absolutely no knowledge whatsoever

so basically if you do have the knowledge and he has an opinion - remember you are at an actual advantage and can look down at him and smile to yourself - anger is an emotion that is really self destructive - it makes you into a person that is lesser than you really should be ive learned that the hard way so i think you shouldnt be angry at these guys - rather be amused and just remember this one little saying

"GOD LOVES ARSEHOLES COS HE MADE SO MANY OF THEM"

so basically dont bother to argue with thick idiots like that chappie since he will be telling his entire forum about what an arsehole you are - and that wont get anyone anywhere besides a full circle
