Today my friend (Friedjam) and other guy (Mr molly) went to the movies (37 bucks may I add!!!) and we were going to watch Kill Bill. Now, we are very mature 15 year olds and the counter lady recognised this, so she sold us tickets.
THEN we feed more money into the bloodsucking money lovers to be sold these so-called "food items" which may I add were not tasty. then we sit in the theatre and are brain washed with adverts that help feed the bloodsucking money lovers some more. then all of a sudden the speakers started to suck ass. So after forcing us to watch the first 30 minutes of the movie AND adverts in horrible quality, they decide to start it again. Which took about 20 minutes to fix the speakers.
Then the lucifer wannabe scum sucking manager starts looking at the audience and sits next to our particularly short friend, Fried Jam (hes really small!) and tells him to get out because he is too young, this continues until he reaches us two. WE ARE FORCED OUT OF THE THEATRE AND HE EXPECTS US TO WATCH ANOTHER MOVIE (with the delay all other movies were past the 30 min. mark) so we dont want to, we ask for our money back and the manager gets all bitchy and says no. so we leave, come back and sneak into all the other movies and are bored stiff
bottom line is if you see someone from Nu Metro slit his throat and say "Im kicking YOU out this time, hahahahahahahahaha"

I am really sorry but I don't agree with you. Go to a movie with an 18 age restriction and then whine when you get kicked out when you're not 18? Thats not right. Sorry bro, you can't blame them at all for that. Yes yes I know that the woman at the desk let you in but that doesn't change the fact that YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN THERE!

Yeah, that was pretty damn unfair. She could of have given you your money back, minus a few rand because you did enjoy the movie a little didn't you?

It would have been alright if they hadn't let us watch the movie OR given us back our money, i would have been perfectly happy with that cause i could have just watched another movie.

What KK described also happens in Ster Kinekor cinemas... in fact, on the whole, I am seeing more and more kak viewings in the cinemas, and at the same time, the kakker the viewings become, the more their movie ticket and food prices skyrocket!

So now the movie is starting and so the guy goes and finds the manager while his wife sits and bitchs bout this. Well 20min later the guy was sitting on a plastic chair and we had missed the intro of the movie! Thanks Ster Kinekor!

When I was still in high school, and bought a movie ticket to a Nu Metro movie, one of my friends was asked to produce his ID to prove he was over 13, for a PG13 movie. How many 14 year olds do your know who carry around ID's?

eh if you didn't remember that the law was passed "no ppl under aged will be permitted into a movie even if they are accompanied by their parents"
These ppl have a reason to turn ppl away from the movies cos if there are caught allowing a 6 year old kid in a 10 year old resisted movie the movie house will be fined 5k or something like that...
NOTE Exact figures are not know
As for Nu Metro suxing yeah their popcorn tastes like paper! Otherwise it's all good... R12 with my Edgars Movie Card anytime in the week and weekend! but only up to 4 ppl per day per card

i also live in Nelspruit so i dont have much of a choice when it comes to cinemas. I dont have much of a problem with the nelspruit nu-metro, the only problem I do/did have was that they only released Kill Bill on the 12 March much later than the other nu-metro cinemas, this has happened with other movies as well. the manager does have a look in the movies that have a high age restriction to check for any youngsters but i think that is the right thing to do.
yes they should have refunded you or not let you in at all, i find it unusual that they didnt refund you because i know they have done that in the past for some of my friends, they once gave the audience free tickets because they were having problems with the picture.
i dont know about the rubbish popcorn since i dont eat popcorn.
i dont know why you are complaining about the adverts and trailers at the beginning. i like to watch the trailers to see what new movies are coming about and they can also give you those much needed extra 15 mins incase you are running late

The NuMetro in Nelspruit isnt to bad, the only problem i have is with the Edgars card, the photo on the back looks nothing like me because im wearing a hat and every time i go there i have a problem..but they always let me thru in the end (they have no other choice except death if they dont).
i watch alot of movies im too young for, watched kill bil the other day and im 16. i almost got kicked out once because of some brats in my school who were in the process of getting kicked, they pointed out that me and my friends were too young..but the manager was cool..he said "at least they look old enough, now lets go!"
Surge
Mar 21 2004, 01:46 PM
About getting the refund... there are laws in place prohibiting people who are under age from watching the movies, so I don't see why you should break the law, and then get caught, and then still get your money back, especially since you knew that you were not supposed to go and see the movie because you were too young...

Is this for any Edgars card, because my bro has a Edgars card, but it does not say CLub on it or anything & I want to know if I can use that card. He says no, but others say yes.
Nu Metro at Waterfront (oh, sorry, Bright Water Commons [sucky name]) is pretty good. Had one incident when I go on a Saturday early morning (9am) to watch a movie, but they not open yet. I leave, phone them and they answer. Manager arrived late. So I go on the Sunday, guess what..they not open. Manager arrives late and the big/long releases (Lord of the Rings etc) are quickly marked "Sold Out". We tune the manager that the same thing happened yesterday and he denies it.

There is like a little booth where you buy the tickets and you go there and show them your Edgars card and stuff and they give you a special card as membership. That's about how it works. Dunno (don't think) if you can just use a normal Edgars membership.
