Hi all

At the beginning of Feb I decided that I needed to be uniquely identified on the planet. So I do a whois and find that www.aman.co.za is available (.com was taken sad.gif ).

I registered the domain and paid using my credit card. A few days later, once my CC has been debited, i do a whois search and although the domain has been registered in my name, the whois indicates that it hasn't been paid.

I dial-up Imaginet and explain the situation. The dude says that I need not worry cos the invoicing is only done at the end of the month and that he would make the domain paid. He also said that the warning level is currently 2, and the domain will only be suspended at 5. So i relax... until now.

It is now the 18th of March, and in spite of me speaking to he same peron several times and after sending numerous emails, they still cannot grasp the simple concept at hand.

I recently bought web and DNS hosting from PM, and was ready to transfer the control of my domain. I sent a message to CrEaTiOn to start the transfer yesterday. When he tried to perform the transfer he was told that it can only be done once the R150 is paid. I am currently rather embarassed and extremely angry at the same time.

I could understand Imaginet's excuse about the invoicing, but now it's getting ridiculous. How in the world do they do business like this? I know I will never deal with them again.

Hey aman.

The guy lied right from the begining. If you look at Section 2e, it asks "Acc/Inv/Cheq". He had selected invoice, which, if all the details are correct, instantly. So this crap about only getting the invoice later is rubish. They email it to 2 minutes after you register.

I see the domain has been paid now, so I will go ahead and do the transfer smile.gif

What annoys me about companies like this, is that they think they can lie to people who are not as clued up as they are. BEcause the sad thing is, most people would believe them. sad.gif

Ciao

Thanks a million Ian.... if only all companies provided service like PM.

The disturbing thing is the guy's title.... he's like the Technical Manager there.... a very bad sign indeed.
