I don't know why the hell they bothered opening a CPT branch. It was quicker getting it straight from JHB as they don't even have stock down here. Stupid retards.
As you know my mobo died. I thought OK instead of ordering from JHB I'd wait till Monday 12th for CPT to open so I could get a new mobo. Firstly they delayed opening to Wednesday 14th. Then it took 2 days to open an account. They ordered it finally last Friday and it's still not here yet. Over 13 days without a mobo.

took me 4 weeks to get a replacement for my IC7, reckon they lost it because they couldnt tell me where the hell the board was in that time, they only gave me a new one when i absolutely lost my temper and demanded to know what the hell was going on.

so yeah, they arent the best by any stretch of the imagination, still reckon they better than rectum though wink.gif

Well I phoned them direct yesterday even though I bought through third party. Their container was due yesterday, but delayed. They will start unpacking the container today and we Allbrain and I can get our stuff only on Monday !!! They opened shop the 14th it's now the 23rd and they their first stock if maybe coming today. I cannot even put into words how p'd off I am anymore. One things for sure. I don't care what it cost but I will have TWO decent PC's form now, one as a backup. And if I need from Esquire I will get direct from JHB and send my own courier. Gees - 4 weeks enigma ? And I thought 2 weeks was agony.

ADDED - In fact - I have no problem sending back my dead mobo now as they owe me big time.

I guess the techs there are freshly graduated college students who have done a basic A+ and think that they know everything...

I have encountered this before at Rectron...

The kid was bragging to me over the phone about his qualifications...

I just pointed out that with all his "qualifications" he still hadn't fixed the problem. I also pointed out that I knew how to fix it, I just wanted to swap the component out...

He sheepishly went about organising the swap out.

GUYS !!! IF YOU ARE IN CAPE TOWN AND WERE THINKING OF ORDERING FROM ESQUIRE CAPE TOWN PLEASE THINK AGAIN. I ORDERED A BRAND NEW ABIT MOTHERBOARD FROM THEM ON THE 14 TH OF JANUARY AND TODAY THE 27 TH OF JANUARY AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE IT. ALL THAT THEY HAD TO DO WAS ORDER IT FROM THEIR JHB BRANCH dots.gif (Sjoe ... I got through that without swearing).

After phoning around for days on end, I finally got hold of the right person. I told them about my problem and asked them to see if they can try and find out anything about my board's status. Guess what ??? They cannot even find the damn thing on their records. I am so pissed !!! I will strangle the first Esquire employee I see with my bare hands. I am going to bad mouth this company to anyone willing to listen. This is sommer KAK.

Bad service? I waited SIX WEEKS for rectron Durban to replace a faulty 400 watt Aopen PSU for me last year.

Looong story, they first had no stock of an aopen 400 watt PSU for one week, until I walked in and asked why the hell there wasn't any stock, so they handed me an opened box with a PSU in it(RMA stock anyone), for the full wholesale price... which turned out to be a peice of crap( low voltages, made squealing noise).

I returned the PSU the following day, and had to wait six weeks for a replacement, which I made sure was in a sealed box, and that PSU has been in my pc for quite a few months now, and is working like a dream.

I will NEVER buy from Rectron again, unless I have no other alternative, and if my PSU dies, I won't take it back for a replacement, as I cant go without a pc whilst I wait for the dumbasses here in Durban to get stock again.

They seemingly never have stock if I just want one or two odd components, but the one day when I ordered two entire pc's, they had stock in instantly on components they had not stocked for months.. thumbdown.gif

One thing worse than bad service is a misdirected complaint. Ranting around here is like preaching amongst the converted. I'd hope by now that we would have started posting our successes in complaining, and sharing secrets to getting 'them' to bend to our every whim.. but no.. we yak yak whine spit puke and profane. Hey, i did my fair share and them some of the same, but that lotsa wasted energy.

Same story with PCF etc..

So lets send all our phlegm to the very people who should be hearing it. Some may caution that everyone sending their phlegms is tantamount to mail bombing/spamming, but i disagree. If all complaints result in a something akin to a DOS attack, then it means them folks got a serious problem with their system/stock/staff etc... but that just an outrageous example anyway. (although the flames directed at Esquire cpt would actually result in physical violence it seems, especially from Solo. Imagine him going rifle.gif Postal... 2guns.gif death.gif smoke.gif

If anyone got a better idea, share it and let's go for it.

Maybe in future we will see some success stories worth sharing. one bitch and moan is very much the same as the next. The ONLY differentiator must be MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

its best if you have a company. the suppliers usually have different policies regarding applications etc. just visit their websites or see them personally and they will explain and help you out (sometimes).
rectron is very strict with application criterea (compared to many others!).
some suppliers will allow you to apply as a sole proprietor.

Ask to speak to somebody with some seniority.

I did the same thing when I was having hassles with Computer Mania with them taking ages to deliver a part to me.

I picked up the phone. Spoke to a manager in JHB and I reckon the person who was handling the ordering etc. in CT got canned cause he wasn't there 3 days later.

I just phoned Esquire JHB again. Talked to a lady in warranties and finally found my motherboard. The damn thing was ready for collection ages ago. The communication between the branches must be shot to hell. Hopefully I will get the board by tomorrow afternoon. About f#cking time !!!!

Axiz is the worst! Hate to ever have to deal with them! think they are so high and mighty coz they got themselves official distributor for Kingston... (oh what a crap web-site too).

Esquire JHB is also quite a cow! tired of their shyte...

AFAIK Rectron JHB hasn't given me any problems and I've had to return 10 HDD, 4 CDRW, 2 Mobo's.

FREAKING Rectron CT is a damn rip-off compared to JHB and once when I bought a IBM 30GB HDD - it fail on me 4 times (3 x bad sector, 1 x spindle failure) - in the end when I sent the drive back again they decided to drop my drive and chip the plastic on the HDD. Gave me grief and said I've lost my warranty! #$%@

got th radeon today so that took almost a week. not too bad but not good. they do seem to be improving as they settle in to a new city.

It has now been more than a month since I returned my board. Friday I got news that the board had been picked up by the courier and was on its way. They said it should be here on Monday. biggrin.gif Well it is now Wednesday and I got news that the courier company has misplaced my board. crying.gif They cannot find the damn thing. I officially give up. They can keep the damn board. I am buying a new one.

My board is ready for collection at Esquire Cape Town. I just took them 36 days. Nice one Esquire. Never buying anything from them again.

As far as the opening of the branch, we were at the mercy of Telkom because of the Diginet connection between H/O and Cape Town which was ordered three months prior to opening and only got installed on the 12th January 2004 and only operational on the 15th of January this has put us in an embrassing situation

I must admit that since then I have had no problem with Esquire Cape Town at all. They stock a lot of products at most competitive prices. The Cape Town branch has shaped up to be a very good supplier of computer related products.
