We have a diverse community of members whose interests range from PC's to movies to cars, and everything in between. This is a place where one can learn and teach.

The Vault9 Forums community is a close knit, happy-go-lucky group of people from all over the world. We strive to keep it as such, therefore some rules need to be enforced.

1. No Spamming.

2. No Plagiarism (Posting of copyrighted material is strictly forbidden without explicit permission from the owner/author. This includes using the image tags to link to an image on another site. This is a serious offence and will be dealt with as such.

3. All content posted on Vault9 Forums is copyrighted to Vault9 Forums unless copyrighted material is credited to a third party.

4. Absolutely NO personal attacks will be tolerated, except in Fight Club.

5. No abusing the PM (private messenger) system.

6. No spamming via the PM system.

7. ABSOLUTELY NO discussion or posting of warez (pirate software) or links to warez sites. All sites are illegal and pose a threat to our continued existence.

8. No porn of any kind (graphical/textual/ascii/movies). Offenders will be banned and will not be allowed to return to the forums.

9. No racial or other politically incorrect slurs.

10. We do not permit advertising OF ANY KIND! This includes offering items for sale or trade (other than in the Junk Pile - see rules in the relevant forum), posting your URL or announcements of new sites. This is also prohibited from user signatures. The use of links for product reviews and product information is, however, allowed as long as it is deemed that a sale is not being attempted.

10.1 Please note: Permission can be obtained (in certain circumstances) for site advertising by contacting one of our admin staff.

11. No flamers. This also refers to n00b bashing. n00b bashing is not tolerated. It's the same as schoolyard bullying.

11.1We welcome all, no matter how little experience you have or what language barriers there may be. We'll try to accomodate everyone.

11.2 This excludes you if you assume that you're a smart ass. Smartasses get flamed silly. Open season on flamers runs from January to December so if you're a smartass and get flamed, don't come crying to us. This also applies to those who think they're well l337.

11.3 Respect is earned. Not demanded.
Members of this forum are respected because of what they know and how much they help people, not because they are hardcore flamers. (Except staff. Staff are respected because they've been here for forever. Or they were just born elite. No amount of arguing is going to change that.)

12. Should it become necessary to ban someone from our forums, they are very rarely, if ever, given a second chance.

The process for a ban is as follows:

1. First warning
2. Second warning
3. Third warning and 3 day suspension
4. BANSTICK!

Spambots are different though, they get their accounts deleted straight away.

13. Vault9 Forums assumes no responsibility for any bad deals. Buy and sell at your own risk.

14. A valid e-mail address must accompany your membership. Errors in e-mail addresses will result in your account being suspended or deleted.

15. The management of this forum does not condone theft, trading in stolen property, or the aiding and abetting of those who do. Any such discussions will be dealt with swiftly, and the offending members account suspended. The incident will be reported (along with all information about the member) to the SAPS.

16. Multiple accounts are not allowed. Any member creating more then one account will be warned by staff, and the second account will be deleted. If a second account is created after being warned by staff, the member in question will be banned from this forum.

17. Advertising IRC networks is also a no-no. The preferred IRC network that we associate itself with is irc.blabber.org.

18. Oh, and try not to end your nickname with a string of random numbers. It makes it difficult to remember and identify, and also makes you look like a spambot.

Members are asked to read the Board Related forum often for any changes/updates that have been made to the board or any other important bits of information that the staff wish to share with the community.
