yesterday after posting on hellopeter, I noticed a number of complaints directed at hellopeter. These ranged from deleting of comments to editting of posts. It's becoming apparent that hellopeter is a scam. The suppliers are required to pay in order to reply to a complaint, and even if the issue is not resolved and more often than not , they aren't, go read for replies from companies like "Sorry to hear of your plight, we'll look into it" or "We'll inform the correct people" here is a perfect example http://www.hellopeter.com/the_comment.asp?recid=70352 those bullshit one liners get counted as the supplier's response, making a lack lustre non problem solving 1 line an argument for them to say "We are a company that replies" It's bullshit actually. I noticed 1 guy's complaint about his complaint being deleted dissapeared which means that it got deleted. In other complaint aimed at hellopeter, the person asked why his comment was editted and was told that yes hellopeter do edit posts because they are a gateway between client and supplier and not there to serve as a bulletin board for complaints. hmm... they're not? then what the hell are they then? they are supposed to act as a voice for the consumer but they edit certain complaints because they are sponsored by a lot of companies , those that "respond" so it's in their best interest to protect the good name of the people that are lining their pockets by deleting certain comments and editting complaints. doing a quick search on google to find anything on hellopeter got this : http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=66352 http://www.reporter.co.za/article.aspx?ID=RP21A427635 Bottom line is that companies are being extorted to pay a fee to be listed as a company that responds and are required to pay a fee to clear their name, regardless of whether there is any truth to the complaint or not, and even then those companies that do give crap service and are complained about on hellopeter can just respond with a simple one liner without resolution to the actual problem and be regarded as a company who cares. yeah right. SMELLS LIKE BULLSHIT TO ME! -------------------- |

The sooner readers realise that Peter Cheales runs hellopeter to make money, and not to correct the shortcomings in the service industry, the better. He is not a Knight in shining armour, riding to protect you and I from mis-use; he has only his own financial position in mind!
I would like to contribute to this site frequently, if you will have me. Gallows. |

I have known Peter for years - he is an ex actor turned motivational speaker who climbed onto the Customer Service wagon through his talk "I was your customer".
Gallows is right - Peter is here for the bucks but the Hellopeter site if used carefully by customer and responded to honestly by supplier has done a lot of good. My company has had 5 or 6 cases in the last 5 years. Most brought complaints to my attention (as owner of the business) that were being hidden by lower echelons who had made mistakes. I never understood why those customers just didn't phone in and ask for the MD and they would have got the action quicker. Of course when anybody is in the wrong you have to sort it out and quickest is best. Two were unfortunately customers who expected more than any supplier could give and ultimately I asked the customers to refer to the industry ombudsman and in both cases the ombudsman found in my favour. I agree that there are too many suppliers with quick responses on HelloPeter that never actually respond to the customer -one of my franchise principals was very guilty of this which meant I have to montor Hello peter in respect of all complaints under that brand. My advice - talk to the management starting 1 above the level you have an initial difficulty with. If you dont succeed then most industries have ombudsmen and the Consumer Council is there ti protect you. -------------------- Peace be with you always
