Tropic Thunders stars Ben Stiller (Omg I know) but the good news is that next to him stands Robert Downey Jr. (playing a black man), Jack Black (the comedian), Nick Nolte (the sergeant) and some high profile cameos mixed inbetween. Basically it's about a group of actors who go to shoot a movie about the war and find themselves in the real life thing. The other good news is that this will be R-Rated, so none of that family friendly stuff he lately stars in. Check out the Red Band Trailer below (the original link requires you to be American but some good soul uploaded it on YouTube) which is pretty funny. -------------------- Locke: If it's not real, then what are you doing here, Jack? Tropic Thunder...arrgh!
It was funny and some moments really flat out funny (Tom Cruis <3) but it missed a lot of marks that they could've upped the awesomeness. All in all, 7.5 / 10. I don't know, I expect something crazier and raunchier I suppose (or I am just not that sensitive when it comes to this  ).Also my crowd was a crowd that laughed at all the lame stuff

I thought this was awesome!
Tom Cruise redeems himself slightly, Jack Black reveals more of his craziness, Downey Jr had me in stitches and Stiller did a good job directing. 9/10 from me  P.S. I hate those people  I had people looking back at me when I laughed at the truly funny stuff while they canned themselves to the lame shit

Tom Cruise was awesome in this, I seriously laughed my ass off whenever he was in the movie.
Jack Black was insane but I don't know, his act wasn't as funny as in say, Tenacious D As I said, needed more crazy

And what did you think of Downey Jr? He acted amazingly well IMO: "I don't know... I don't drop character until I'm done with the DVD commentary" LOL

I didn't like his character that much but like most of them were very hit & miss anyways (except Tom <3). |

I think the Cruise character was hit/hit... nobody can hate a man who cares that little about what people think of him. And the fact that he swore so much had me in stitches! |
