My computer has just DIED Sadly and tragically it took a turn for the worst, I think it was a bit jealous of my upgrade plans. Oh well, it's all over now. Now its time for a PROPER pc: Intel E4500 Asus P5K 2 x 512MB DDR 800 Then once the Yorkies are out and dropped in price then I'm getting one, hopefully And yes, sadly, there was no BOOM when it died, otherwise I would hve been happier -------------------- ![]() AquaMark3 (Preset V. Lol, you were hoping for a boom?
May I recommend one of those dodgy no-name 300W PSUs that come with the el cheapo cases then? I've had two of those pop with a pleasing BANG and a nice blue flash to boot -------------------- |

I would say get a better CPU: E6600 at the least, 2 Gigs of RAM. Trust me you wont regret spending your money wisely as it will be longer beofre you will have to upgrade again. if your a gamer either go for the 8800 GTS 320 or above, |

I NEVER said that I'm getting a new GFX 2. I intend on waiting til the Yorkies are out and then once the prices have dropped I'll be buying one, until then the E4500 will be fine. I'll be getting 2 * 1GB OCZ RAM once I have more cash |

Bugger the 8800 GTS, complete waste of money now that the GT is available.
Grab one of those, 2GB of decent RAM and an overclocked cheap quad core and you're good to go. |

Ok, well I'llrather wait til the Yorkfields are out, then I'll grab one of those. The 8800GT doesn't justify itself at thispoint in time, I have better things I can spend R4k on. I'll get the 2GB RAM once I have cash

That's the beauty of the GT, they're going for around R2500.

Rather go for a E2140
I have a E2140 and a E4300 The E2140 is 1.6GHZ at stock but can run 24/7 @ 3GHZ per core no voltage change. For it's price you can't go wrong, I got it down to 18secs super-pi, couldn't even get my E6600 that low for some reason, think I had a lemon stepping. lol @ Rusty. QUOTE Oh well, it's all over now. Thanks guys, although I'm not looking to go for a new GFX, I just bought a new 8600GT and it runs my games perfectly for my liking. The 8800GT @ R2500 is more than my whole upgrade!! My upgrade of E4500, 2 x 512MB DDR2 800 and a P5K comes to R2480.
