He suffered... but now there are millions suffering not knowing how it's all going to end!!! All those forsaken not dealt with! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!

I always said that I would wait for him to finish writing it before starting to read it... then I started because there was fuck all else to read... damn I was right sad.gif

He had always said that he had about 50 books to write (not all Wheel of Time), so there goes a lot of great stories sad.gif

RIP Robert

This is what has been said by DragonMount and WotMania, two of the biggest fan sites:

QUOTE
I talked with Jason about this. He said that Jordan has been dictating outlines and plot lines and everything else related to the final book. He used the phrase "army of writers" to talk about the people that were converting those tapes into written form.

It would appear that the final book will still be published, I'm sure details regarding that will work themselves out. So please be patient (as challenging as that might be), and for now let's focus on Jordan's life, writing, and the joy he brought to us.

Speculation so far says that Harriet, his wife and long time editor will be the primary author of the final book, however this is unconfirmed, and I would hope that thats the end of speculation at least until after the poor man has had his funeral and said last goodbyes.

Well Finally! I'm just glad he's going to stop writing those damn books! It was over after the third one, in my opinion, how many superheros can there be in a world?

Not very nice to be happy that someone has passed away Logovanni, I don't care who you are.

His series has continued to get better, personally I think his stories have been more captivating than any of Tolkien's work.

Hey, I'm not happy he died, but I agree that the man needed to be stopped. If Da Vinci just kept throwing on more and more paint on the Mona Lisa, it wouldn't be the Mona Lisa anymore, it'd be the Oh god, what a mess of paint Lisa. Then the French would have burned it back before christ was born, just to keep its hideousness from polluting the planet's greatest natural resource, the human mind.

Well, me being... me, I have to defend Tolkien!

Jordan's work was a story of premature ejaculation... since book 6 Rand has been near unstoppable, meaning that the story reverts to politics. Jordan goes into WAY too much detail.

Also... Jordan is so damned scared of killing off ANY of his characters dry.gif WHY?

Tolkien was brilliant. He set the standard for fantasy literature. Jordan was just as good. Jordan aimed for a different thing from his books though.

Jordan hasn't killed many major characters. The only ones that died in his books were Moiraine(questionable), Valda and most of the Forsaken. The minor characters died in droves. Much the same as Tolkien. He didn't kill many major characters either. In the Hobbit, some of the dwarves died at the end. In Lord of the Rings it was Saruman, Gollum, Sauron and then Haldir, who is close on being a minor character.

I also feel that the detail of his work is a strength of it, Tolkien in his main works didn't go into nearly enough detail. The politics also makes it a bit more realistic, it's not just Rand Al'Thor running around killing everyone and beating them with his Asha'man. The other lesser people play a huge role here. But hey, each to their own.

And as for your comments Log, if you are so anti books, don't read them, particularly if you hate them as much as you seem to hate these. Wishing someone had died just so you wouldn't have to deny yourself the opportunity to read any more of his work is a bit bizarre, twisted and ill-conceived. And by the by, the Mona Lisa is an Italian painting, by an Italian artist, painted in Italy.

The forsaken are dead? Well, they die... and keep coming back again!

I've enjoyed the WoT, but LotR is still better IMO... especially when adding the Silmarillion tongue.gif

As much as I think he could have finished earlier, he still needs to finish. I have to know how it ends. If we're ever going to get ressurecting people, now would be a good time to start. We can move on to other people with unfinished business, like Douglas Adams. Nice way to cop out of another publishing deadline, Mr. Lazy.
