Do you plan to overclock? If not, you would do just as fine with DDR2-800, as that is what the motherboard will run the RAM at (if I am not mistaken).

Why only 80GB hd? You should be able to get a 320GB for not a lot more.

the drive is to be used purely as a boot partition, I have over a terrabyte of drive space on other drives anyway.

Hey paul,

What do you need the new rig for?

as for 2x2gig DDR1066 pricing is a bit steep... if you not into overclocking thne DDR800 is more than sufficient for your needs. maybe cut back on that and stock up with 2x250gigs raid tongue.gif

stock, although I was thinking of getting a geminII, but it might be overkill if I am not overclocking

is that motherboard sli capable? if not, I'm sorry I couldn't come on here sooner to suggest that you get an sli ready motherboard, since you will have that rather nice sli graphics card. That's my next "mad scientist" project, to see if I can rig up a super computer at home using SLI, well actually cross fire, since I sent my GT 9800 back to the suppliers and replaced it with an ATI 4850.
