I just got a new Epson hi-def printer/ all-in-one for my B-day. Its pretty sweet and all but I cant get full use out of it! Apparetly to get the full use out of printing photos, i need to get the ultra-premium high gloss photo paper. Epson Sells a 50 pack for $129.99! WTF! Thats about $2.60 a page. I don't know about most of you, but i can't afford that. My wife is big into scrap booking, and has got a scrapbooking program, you design everything and then just print it out. It's pretty handy, even makes calanders and greeting cards, etc... But I'm getting off topic. What if you press print and later realize that there is a mistake on the page, there goes $2.60 down the drain. So I got a 100 pack of Kodak matte finish paper for $15, but the quality isn't much better than regular printer paper. Uhhhg, well that was my little rant and rave for the day..... for now anyways.

Printer manufacturers make their profit on consumables, not the hardware. It's often been said it's cheaper to buy a new printer rather than get new ink for your old one. Unfortunately there is not much you can do unless you can try find a distributor who can give it to you at cost and buy in bulk.

I know, I've heard that too, but come on, a $129.99 for 50 8.5 X 11 sheets of paper. thats a little ridiculous to me.

I have yet to see a printer that works out cheaper than taking your mem-stick to a photo-shop for development.

It's all just a way to get more money from you. Unless you want to fork out a ton of money for the expensive stuff, the regular paper or photo paper will work and still give you good quality.
