Just thought I would start up a new thread as couldn't see one and talk about something that I'm very passionate about and that is ART. Any type from surrealism to pop-art to 3D-architectural designs to fashion and all the other forms that we have...

I'll start I love all the work done by Nigel Coates at the moment and not very long ago I was also very inspired by Wayne Hemingway. Nigel Coates for me at the moment has I think fantastically depicted what London Culture is all about. His work using the Battersea Power Station has transformed its surrounding landscapes and brought positive light within the neighbour hoods. A must see.

Who are your favorite artists and why? biggrin.gif

I like Borris Valejo. He really knows how to make females look good, flabby butts and all, the way it should be wink.gif

As for fine art I would go with Salvador Dhali, his images really gets the imagination going.

Vallejo rocks! I used to have Flight of Icarus as my desktop wallpaper, his other painting that I LOVE is Tattoo

If you like his work, check out Julie Bell

As for Dhali, man alive, I can stare at the metamorphosous of narcissus for hours on end, its an amazing peice of work.

Duane Michals has an incredible way of creating story reels with photograhs making it seem almost film like, especially in his 'Fallen Angel' piece. But one of my favorites is his boogey man story where the imagination of a little girl becomes real. Another favorite is where he depicts the second coming of Christ and no one notices while christ is being shown the horrors of the world. His sense of humor comes out along with his ideas of people and I love him for that. Michals can also create a thousand of stories with just one image.

Mixing two of my favorite things: Stories and Photography, makes him one of my favorite artists.

check out the The Essential Duane Michals if you want to see what I'm talking about. biggrin.gif
