I had a whole write-up planned to kick off this thread, but sadly, time has not been on my side lately. Australia, and Lewis is on pole though. Great stuff! Good to also see the BMWs up there. Good stuff from Lewis.
Pity there wasn't a one/two from McLaren. Ferrari... I guess the less said, the better? |

LOL. quite an entertaining race, but not from a good racing point of view. More from a bad racing point of view. Kimi = TOOL. LOL. Kovalinen = Unlucky. Massa = Half Tool.
Side Note... where did McLaren get that cool idea to put that nifty cover thing on the wheel??? -------------------- If at first you don't succeed. Delete all evidence that you even tried!

Ahhhh.... Very stupid of the boys from McLaren to get that penalty on the grid. Very stupid.
Anyways, as fan of F1, I am pleased with the way the season looks thus far. BMW right up there in the Constructor's race so far, and Kimi and Lewis slagging it out for the Driver's. Looks like another entertaining season is upon us, just like last season. |

Nice to see a Ferrari one-two after such a long time! Surprisingly the Ferrari's did not dominate this race as the BMW's of Heidfeld and Kubica simply did not allow them to pull away into the sunset.
Well done to BMW for making this a 6 horse race! I hope they can continue in this vein of form. Highlight of the race for me: Hamilton damaging his front wing after driving into the ear tyres of that Spanish prick Alonso! -------------------- // Visit cyberst0rm's blog - You know you want to! //

Is it really that crappy to watch it at the track, Nukes? I would think that having a seat at the grand stand would give you more of a chance to see the cars zoom by.
Right, about the race, as an F1 fan, this is turning out great, with both the driver's and constructor's races being contested by three teams. Ja, as a McLaren fan, heart sore. But Ron Dennis said that the true potential of the car will only be seen after Bahrain, so I shall wait and see. They did get slaughtered this weekend though. |

Endless Blurs and monotonous sound ftw!!!!!
Its baking at this time of year in Bahrain as well 50oC+ Just makes the track not worth it unless you get one of those swanky lounge passes |

True about it not being any better... sorta. Had there not been safety car periods, it would have been another trip to the slaughterhouse for McLaren in terms of the Ferraris dashing off into the distance...
Why do I support the teams that give their fans so much stress? Between McLaren and Man Utd, I should have my first heart attack by the age of 30. |

Well, the 3 stopper worked pretty well for McLaren yesterday. And the title race is still looking hot. Pity about Kovalainen getting the early puncture, and wtf was up with the extra stop by McLaren. Could it have been avoided?

I think they did the extra stop on purpose to make sure they had backup for if Kimi was trying to overtake Lewis. Kovalinen would've then slowed down and then slowed Kimi down when they tried to lap him. If they had tried to do a 2 stopped like most of the other teams, then they would've been nowhere. They can't handle the soft compound tire. At least not at that track. In the end it proved to be a good tactic for them, but not a winning one. Wonder what the race would've been like if the ferraris did 2 stints on the harder compound? All in all I think it was a pretty boring race.
Imagine how dominant Kimi would've been if his front wing wasn't damaged... Title race is looking good yeah. Specially since the next 2 tracks are meant to be McLaren tracks... Going to be interesting. |

Well, when Lewis made that mistake and went into the barrier, I was kinda down, but hey, it paid off in the end.
Hard luck for Force India on not getting some points out of that race. A cruel case of being so close, yet so far... So, with Kimi getting no points, we see Lewis move to the top of the ladder, with Kimi moving down to second, and Massa to third. Doesn't look very likely that a fourth horse is gonna be in this race, but who knows... It would be great of Kubica could join in the race. |

I feel so sorry for Force India as well. |

*sigh* Lewis, Lewis, Lewis. What WERE you thinking with that pit stop? And now you are getting a 10 place drop for the grid at the next race. That said though, congrats to Robert Kubica on his, and BMWs first win, AND first one/two! If there is a driver I would rather see win a race apart from Hamilton, it would be Kubica. Nick wasn't all too happy, but hey, Robert imo is the better driver right now, and deserved to lead the team to their historic win. Who would have though that Kubica would be leading the championship? Damn I love this sport. As Murray walker used to say, "F1 is IF spelled backwards." The season has just become a WHOLE lot more interesting. |
