The Coca-Cola Zero Fest will take place at Johannesburg’s New Market Racecourse on Friday, 10 April 2009 and Cape Town’s Ostrich Farm on Monday, 13 April 2009.

The following international bands will be rocking Joburg and Cape Town:

* Oasis
* Bullet for my Valentine
* Snow Patrol
* Panic at the Disco

The local bands playing at the 2009 Coca Cola Zero Fest are as follows:

* Zebra and Giraffe
* The Dirty Skirts

clicky

I was about to abandon all hope until they added B4MV at the last minute. Those dudes kick some serious ass live.

Wouldn't mind seeing Oasis either, although they haven't made a decent album in around 13 years.

So who else is going to the show?

Yup, 'Morning Glory' by far. 'Definitely Maybe' was also ok, but it's been downhill since the first two albums. 'Dig Out Your Soul' wasn't atrocious; definitely better than the few before it.

The problem, IMHO, is that you can't pull off the arrogance of the first couple of albums when the music actually isn't all that good anymore. And the brothers' whole 'don't give a fuck' attitude was cool in the beginning but now that their music has taken a dive it just smacks of disinterest to me.

It's a pity though. I remember seeing them in their heyday playing to enormous crowds and wishing I could see them live, but I'm honestly not that excited that it's actually going to happen now. Hopefully they bring the heat and prove me wrong.

Their tour so far seems to have been received quite well so you can only hope.

I'll be going but I'm sure as shit not gonna buy golden circle tickets for bands that aren't that 'amazing'. Oasis are has-beens (I only want to see them perform Wonderwall), Snow Patrol are fairly cool - wouldn't mind seeing them, Panic at the Disco are SHIT live and Bullet for My Valentine are OK. Totally not worth R600 though.

I'm looking forward to Zebra & Giraffe more than anything else. Going to watch them on Saturday at Emmarentia. Woot toot. biggrin.gif

Fixed that for you. I think I will have to take my mp3 player along to entertain myself while they are on stage.
B4MV would be great to see, but the rest of the bands are mediocre at best. Snow Patrol make good music, but lack the energy I like at events such as this.
Oasis, not that big a fan of them even in their hey-day.

I wanted Tool or Rammstein!

I will most likely also be at Emmarentia Saturday, if it doesnt rain.

Just 'Wonderwall'? Can't you imagine 'Champagne Supernova' as a drunken closing number? biggrin.gif
