Im looking at getting car sound but still deciding between

* Pioneer 12'' DVC 1200w sub
* Starsound Gladiator 1800w 4ch amp
OR 1800/2200w 4ch audiobank amp
* Audiobank EQ (High end)
* Pioneer 6x9spk 450w
OR decent mid's also 350w or so
* Deciding between bandpass or ported
...... Any advice, Thanx

What type of car are you installing the sound in and where do you plan on mounting the 6x9's.

This would determine things like using a bandpass vs a ported. Mounting of your 6x9's on a backboard of a hatchback would cause distortion(and also damages the 6x9's, i can speak from experience), again the type of car would determine the best place for the speakers. Also i would use high quality mid's and tweeters(better yet use a set of good splits) rather than 6x9's on a setup which includes a sub.

I noticed your proposed setup doesn't include tweeters... this makes a big difference to the overall balnce of the sound quality, i suggest including them.

most importantly whats your budget for all the stuff? (post the prices for each item if you can and i can tell you if there's a place you can get it cheaper, also which area are you in bud)

I'm fairly rusty (ahem) on my car audio but...

1. I'd go for the Starsound over the Audiobank (as long as it's not one of those purple ones).

2. I wouldn't get 6x9s if you're getting a sub. Rather get a decent split system.

3. naughty will be able to give you far better advice here, but IMHO bandpass and ported subs are overrated. If you want ear-splitting bass then fine, but otherwise a standard enclosure should be more than sufficient for that DVC.

What kind of music do you listen to? What car is this setup going into?

I Agree rather get a decent split system.

How much money do you want to spend. Do you want clarity and Quality or do you want loud?
